The Extended Mind is under threat.
Grendel assembles a team of Defenders in a virtual fortress of Tam’s design – but will it be enough? Even if they can stop the invaders from destroying the Mind, their reality will still be changed forever.

Meanwhile, the world beyond the border is gradually encroaching: strange creatures have started emerging from the sea, and the arrival of a visitor prompts questions about the future.
