Naïve idealist Pallas Shrike is new to the virtual game, ‘Combat’, and against star player Bozichi, she doesn’t stand a chance. When the match takes an unexpected turn, it falls to tech-sceptic Administrator Grendel to find out what happened. Her investigation will uncover the true nature of the Extended Mind, and lead her to confront the crazed and terrifying individuals seeking to control it.
THE MIND, EXTENDED explores a utopian augmented reality where Citizens can choose to present themselves with any appearance, any gender. They can choose to hide illness and disguise physical disabilities. It’s a future where everything is provided, but nobody truly understands how the system works. The result is somewhere between Ernest Cline’s Ready Player One and Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?
